The Lodge stands within 7 acres of farmland, originally part of a large estate. Set at the head of the bay, this lodge commands uninterrupted views over Lough Ree, with the shore just 20 yards away (toddlers beware!). In a quiet rural setting, it is perfect for bird watching and a walking holiday. Nearby Athlone (10 miles), with its castle and museum, has excellent restaurants, as well as horse riding, sailing and boat trips. An hour’s drive leads to the popular city of Galway, with its good shops, restaurants and lively pubs. Fly fishing available f.o.c., (bring own tackle). Local pub 2 miles.
