There are a variety of walking opportunities in the area and also scenic drives to be explored. Derrynane beach has a water sports centre, and there is also horse riding at the beach. Waterville, 12 miles, has two golf courses and nearby Staigue Fort is just one of the many archaeological places of interest to be explored. Day trips will bring you to the famous Lakes of Killarney or visit the Beara Peninsula to the south, or the Dingle Peninsula to the north, both equally scenic and interesting destinations.
